Tack Down Tuesday August 16th

August 16th , Week 2 "Healing from the inside"
8 x 8 collage on 140lb. watercolor paper, 2" mat all sides to 12 x 12,ready to pop into a frame.

Materials:
140 lb. watercolor paper, old book pages for the background under the stained tissue papers, Gesso textured papers, with acrylic glazing. Paper letter are sandwiched in between artist tissue papers and then stained and applied in with the reverse side of the tissue revealed,making the letter reverse also. Applied with a heat seal iron or as I like to call it Tack Down and sealed with a UV satin varnish.

Meaning behind the Art: Call it a crossroads, floodgates or growth but I’m at a point in my life where I’ve accomplished many goals and dreams but there is still some unfinished stuff that needs to be meet and more growth needs to happen…Let say I’m not finished growing up yet and the thoughts of new grand illusion need to turn into attainable dreams. I reflect on the letters being reverse as a sign of the underground growth going on with in that sometimes isn’t just right yet…still needs some quiet time to sort out… So the inner healing begins.
