I received a text message and phone call from one of my art tribe buddies saying she got a flu shot the day before and not feeling well and the other art buddy wouldn't make it. And the third gal I that thought she would be able to make it could...overbooking herself. I totally understand all of that...I have to make choices like that all the time...and some days you just can't do it.
So at that point in the house I look at my girls standing there...well I'm doing it alone and I'll turn it into an artist date for myself. That means I go ahead excited, scared with the mindset of adventure.
It started to rain as I parked my car...but I was able to park right close to the Merchandise Mart entrance on Kedzie and Wells. Happy about that. Walked my little boyfriend jeans and black white gray flannel shirt on up to the Starbucks to wait till 10 am to meet Ercan from Canada.
I texted him and took a deep breathe. Mind you now venturing in to the city isn't new but it felt like it. And meeting a new face was odd and awkward but this is an Opportunity that one was given and Oh how cool.
Ercan, my contact through this whole adventure brings me up to the 7th floor where Stylemax is at. Flashback from One of a Kind show. But I think I was on the 8th floor...much the same procedure.
I met all the his people and I met Michael Phillips himself...I tried hard not to look like a fool and say any thing that I would regret. A whole world that is not my thing but I can totally respect it...
Here I am...standing next to the garments that were made with my art work on them...and behind me on the wall you can see the large canvas there of the work too. The one gentleman came back from the last time Stylemax was there to see the products there were talking about which was this new line of "Simply Art" which was with artists work printed on the material and made into clothing..which has been done many times or at least the patterns and prints have.
The two ladies here were looking at the clothing line while I was there. And the saleswoman was modeling the garment for them.
Ercan made up a special book for the clothing that was made with the artist work on it...kind of cool. I guess there will be tags on clothing that will have my bio etc...

So here you go....All the four pieces that were used for the Spring 2016...I wish I could figure out where to buy them..but it depends on who purchases it to sell in there store. All new and hoping I will find out soon but new line new season...up for grabs.
I didn't stay long...very much out of my element but Oh so grateful for the adventurous experience, Now this may not be for some people but it was for me.
When I got home the Husband asked if I would go with him to pick up a 350 lb. Anvil from a guy in Chesterton IN. You see his dream is to be a blacksmith...and I'm one that as you can see take the risk even if it's a bit scary and see what happens when you lean into a dream...So I'm hoping for him-the husband he's able to working all this stuff and be that dream he sees of himself.
OK...as I said before Overstimulated and now need grounding where I can breath fresh air and walk with my body and find my personal rhythm.
