Folding and folding pages
The projects offered in this workshop are 1 concertina sketchbook, that is with the dye stained pages, A tall accordion card which becomes a paper sculpture and a smaller accordion book. Joan has all her pages folded and ready for the next step.
In laying out the hard covers on the coated book board we use the tack iron to fuse the collage paper to the book board. makes for a nice dyed cover and ready to altered as soon as it cools down from the heat.
Had to share Catherine's weight for her folded pages that she's extending with some glue for now and later can add some stitches if it calls for it.
Leah wasn't able to make it to the first day but I helped her out and got some things coated and waiting for her. I added only a few papers to the agenda as this will have art journaling more so then collaging with the tack iron that I share in my other classes and workshops.
Got to make a big gesso Kraft paper so we can all loosen up a bit and have some great paper to cut and use in the smaller accordion sketchbook.
There is a pull tab in the Concertina sketchbook I have everyone make and that shape can be whatever they want. I encourage them to do something differently as much as possible.
Sharing the table with all the pieces I brought. Some collage piece too.
Yellow was the color for my Concertina book. I would like to create some yellow brown Cottonwood leave stencils maybe to use through out and of course put a bear in there.
We will give some time to talk about what ideas, inspiration and nudges everyone is drawn to create today.
