Creative process continues

The collage as created on watercolor paper which has been fused together with an iron. At this point I'm see how the placement works and then I will altered the back ground. It's just painted with acrylics now.

Layers of gloss medium are on the surface and the way it applied will allow for some interesting visual and real textures to be seen when glazing is applied.

A close up of the floating collage fused with iron to the surface.

The back ground is not plan I've used a bit darker value of the blue that is in the collage papers in the floating collage.  I find it helps bring it all together.

When creating the floating collage it can also be mounted in a shadow box effect and can be placed in a raised mat and framed.  The outside edge of the papers make a powerful statement as much as the inside composition.

And with our scraps we will finish up on the small size with four little's.  There fun and so much opportunity to explore possibility with more material in a three dimensional way.

All set up and today we begin the process of creating some papers and using ones we brought.

Here's a link of the space, Link Pavilion   Many artist/instructor some this way and present a workshop, This might be a place for you to check out too.  Shake Rag Alley, Mineral Point WI
