East - Inner Compass- Red Cont.

This collage is Called Blood Stream and I was inspired by a Song, called Blood Stream.  Here using the color, life and great emotions and it just might be about using drugs and how it goes into his bloodstream...but that is my thoughts.

Older piece, Be the Vision,  I know I was using the color purple because I'd not use it much and decided to play with the warm and color palette but the red is a symbol of new ideas as of needing to be the vision.

And this collage is called Acceptance and in the bottom right hand side is the font that reads, New Eyes...part of the East direction is about rebirth, and seeing with a larger picture in life like from an Eagles view instead of the mouse all focused on every little details...What does that have to do with Acceptance?  I think it had to deal with the relatability of change and being open to it as life, living things and the Earth are all ways in a state of change and rebirth through the seasons that it/they travel.

The East Directions is one of emotion and Red is a color that strikes our emotions.

What if you see a red stoplight?

What if your eyes our caught by an intoxicating deep crimson dress on a beautiful woman, how does that make you feel?

What if you see a bright red apple?

Be it with clothes, food or decoration, Red can surround us and excite us. Think about that for a moment....

Mark Rothko's work, Black, Red, Black

Red is the color of heightened emotion, strength, and power. It’s invigorating, intimidating, and it’s never boring.

What makes you feel so strongly when you see the color red? What is triggered by seeing it with your emotions?

Mark Rothko, Blue, Orange, Red

Red is the opposite of blue. Red speeds up our heart, body temperature and blood flow.  It stimulates our sense of smell and taste and makes us more sensitive to our surroundings.  What color can do is amazing, and red can stimulate our adrenal glands and make us more prone to act and gives us more energy.  Red is a physical stimulant.

We have many choices with this color as of how we will use it in our life.  Strong passionate love to aggressive violent anger. Passionate or extremes.  A place to bring in the stillness of the north and seek some small signs to help in choice with this color when using it and respecting it. It captures attention that can convey confidence.

Learning to balance our lives is challenge at each direction. Knowing that the positive and negative is a natural course of life our planet Earth is guided by the pulls of North and South to stay balance, each having it purpose. When we see it as vitality we may see it as life giving force of blood and helping people like seeing the American Red Cross. Red calls us to action, motivates and if the color is worn by people it can make them feel confident. Red roses symbolize love, and to have a red letter day is share the experience of an outstanding day.  And did you know if you wear red shoes it declares that person has achieved material success. Well, that is what I’ve read…not sure if true.

On the other side of Positive we have Negative and the red blood that is life giving can be signs of life taking through violence, danger and anger.  Here’s a bit of knowledge about red, matadors use a red cape not to attract the bulls they fight, (bulls are colorblind) But to hide the bloodstains of their gory sport. We’ve heard this saying before, “Seeing Red,” and when the a red flag is flying it indicate something is wrong. And red is also related to financial loss.

And to float to the Chakras which are energy center within the body that help to regulate, there are seven of them. First chakra is red at the base of the spine, a place of groundedness, trust and belonging.

What does this all have to do with a deeper understanding of ourselves?  Relating to color and how it effects us and connecting to the East direction of Emotion might be a place to start with going deeper. Allowing our senses to open up and observe with a rebirth, new eyes as we come upon the Spring season isn't a bad place to start.  I would much caring around in my thought about how this is changing me then other stuff going on out of my control...here I can start with in my own being...rambling and musing but so truly trusting and understanding in a spiritual way.

Disclaimer:

I am of strong European descent, with a connection to the earth and nature. The spiritual work of our inner being is one of each individual persons.  A lifetime of seeking to continue to connect to what is true has led myself on a learning path in great respect for all. There is no claim of being a decent from a Native American tribe. The natural ways of the Medicine Wheel are gentle and all-encompassing for growth of our spiritual self.  I share this because I'm only sharing gifts pass through me from working through my own life's experience and listening and learning from all those that gather in the circle. A student of life is a great grounded place to be as our teacher are everywhere.  Any trail that leads you to look within is always going to lead you through a journey of self-discovery on so many levels.  No one says it going to be easy or without pain, but the reality is we become who we are meant to be as we heal our own wounds for service of others in our life.   Keep showing up, you are worth it!
