Pop Up RAW Art Journaling

After pages are sewing together they are put in you art journal then you get to create on the surface with all kinds of images.

Here I was playing around with a Moose stencil and working the magazine image of the deer in the back ground with image transfer words over that. You can still see the sewing machine stitch through the paints...how cool is that?

Working a painted background first then add on to the surface and then pushing back anything you like and layering more on top...Oh my gosh no end to this.

All the catalogs, advertisement and magazine out there for use of this art journals is great. Textures and the stitch begin the inspiration.

I found this tucked away in my journal, I must have stashed this so I could use it in a spread.  Hmmm limiting your elements, what can happen?  Lots!!!

RAW Journal Class, February 7 - March 28 (8 weeks), 10am-1pm, Mondays

This class will get you started, and settled in, for some intense and self-expressive art journaling. It’s called RAW for a reason, Real, Awesome, and Whole. Students will make their own soft cover journal, using found papers that will become altered as we work each week on different mixed media techniques. Longer hours are put in place for deeper creative journaling time. This isn’t your basic art journaling class we use sewing machines to attach our papers along with glues and all the other mixed media we can find. The main idea for this journal is to create something that you can bring to the coffee shop, on vacation or hanging with friends creating on a whim or with dedication. Guaranteed to fulfill all your creative and tactile needs. Let the healing begin with our creative gateway to self-expression.

No sewing experience needed; this will be taught in class.

Sewing machines available to use in class. Bring a lunch.

Supply list available after you register.
