Something different

Do something different we are told.

Action speak louder,
 for a new experience preparing
for a long walk, with awareness
 of connected to the earth.

Arriving to the winds whirling
with no debris left on the path.
A simple brown lunch bag carried by us all
to gather natures in a way that will be
placed within a circular space.
Thoughts of situations left on the side,
a wandering spirit is picked up
with childlike wonder
 to touch,
look closer,
feel the warmth of the sun
to take in each smell of treasured objects.
Delight in passing others to the
quiet sway of our steps.
A canvas is cleared in the tiny stones,
taking turns the circle becomes larger
with every ring of natures beauty.
A mutual feeling of release and relaxation.

This was the beginning of  Watercolor Retreat with a few kindred spirits.

The winds became the final designer in the Mandala that was created and mutual freedom of letting go as we walked away and let it be.  On to the house to work with Tonia Jenny's little watercolor course on line.  We did the Circle Samplers and the Meditative Stones while snacking on some wonderful treats and good conversation. All I know is I'm going to do another one of this soon.

The quote below was read along with the introduction to a book Called Morning Alters.

We are the debris arrangers, Equipped with what we

Have inherited, we try to make life, make a living, and make art.

We are assemblers. We forge received parts into meaningful

Compositions. This state of affairs is our plight and our destiny, but it

Also offers the opportunity to find meaning as well as to find communion with others.

Anne Bogart, Theater Director.
