Step by Step Process, "By the Waters Edge"

The paper is the same just turned upside down.

Tree image transfers applied.

White acrylic paint sponged rolled to soften and push back the evergreens.

Graphite pencil lines and added gestural lines.

White and Quinacridone/Nickle Azo Gold...playing with value and pushing the pages of the magazine back even more. Seeing only the edge of the paper in some places.

The house with acrylic mark making paper cut to size and some the area is pushed back too and with gestural makings made with the acrylic paint.

Building on more collage papers. Adding the rocks by the edge of the water.
Another layer of sponge rolling of white acrylic paint to push back even more.

Glazing in white acrylic and glazing medium with a soft deep sage shadowing. Image transfer of the crow is added. And right by the image transfer it say A Family of Crows from the book page underneath. Though it was fitting.

Small red heart was added there off to the side of the house. I shadowed with the graphite pencil in cross hatch and the acrylic.

Allowing some of the papers true color to show and pushing most of it back.

Mounting on a white wood cradle panel very soon.

  1. These collage works are what drew me to your work in the first place. Gloss medium heated and bonded to the base, rolled color and all the wonderful line work and glazing. You are on my favorites list on my blog now!!!
