Something came over me

The other day I was with my book club gals on Zoom, which is always an experience I don't want to be without.  The idea of being authentic came out.  This is not the first time I walked around with the red strips on my forehead and It won't be the last.

Found this on a dear friends Facebook post,

My mother always said getting older was a privilege denied to many. To all of my female friends from 50 years and up... most of us are going through a challenging phase of our lives. We're at that age where we see wrinkles, grey hair, and extra pounds. We've run households, had careers, raised families, paid the bills, dealt with sickness, sadness, grief, and everything else life has assigned us. We are survivors... we are warriors in the quiet... we are Women...aged like a classic car or a fine wine. Even if our bodies are not what they once were, they carry our histories, our souls, our courage, and our strength. We should never feel bad about getting older. It's a privilege that is denied to so many.

And also found this too...

“A woman may crave to be near water, or be belly down, her face in the earth, smelling the wild smell. She might have to drive into the wind. She may have to plant something, pull things out of the ground, or put them into the ground. She may have to knead and bake, rapt in dough up to her elbows. She may have to trek into the hills, leaping from rock to rock trying out her voice against the mountain. She may need hours of starry nights where the stars are like face powder spilt on a black marble floor. She may feel she will die if she doesn’t dance naked in a thunderstorm, sit in perfect silence, return home ink-stained, paint-stained, tear-stained, moon-stained.”

Clarissa Pinkola Estes

The strips seem to be a identity statement...Child, Young Woman, Artists, Married Women, Mother, Crone and soon to be Baba-Grandmother... The freedom to be able to address each of these stages of life in my own history.  I've lived through and came out a Quiet Woman Warrior too.   It's not that I want to get feathers ruffled here,  it's being able to address the truth for a lot of Woman in the past, present and future. We are is vitally important to all and to be shoved to the side or stepped on or quieted is evaluable to all.   Not to put blame on anyone, at this point isn't what I'm addressing it's being able to be the elder in vulnerability and accepted safety and comfort. The inner peace of our lives and if we don't know this ourselves and walk with this empowerment from the inside out....I'm not sure what will happen. The point is it always starts from the inside out and knowing ourselves as honestly as we can has been a nurturing beginning to take at anytime of our lives.

When simple rocks with affirmation on them are picked and strong words speck and move my spirit and soul I can't say no to them.  Today I work with We Are One.

Last words...from my horoscope this morning.

We have a new chance today to create a better life when we free ourselves from unnecessary emotional and spiritual weights.

The more of the past we release from our load, the more fully present we can be. We are doing the work of calling our spirit back from the places we have sent it and invested it. The past can serve to help us grow, but there is no need to carry it around like a beast of burden; it will always be accessible to us in our memories. The present is the only place we can use the energy we have available to us, and it is where we create and experience life. The more we focus on the here and now, the more energy we have to create the life we want to live.

    1. You're welcome Judi, trusting in our personal intuitions has always been questioned and not allowed or accepted, though we know it well and it's never to late to listen again.
