Winter White, North Elders
The direction of the North allows us the time to really look
in the mirror of life. This might be the time to awaken areas within us that
have been suppressed. Feelings that have been triggers and we’ve reacted way to
long and question unhealthiness in our relationships. With the wisdom of the North and our Elders
we can observe and sit in non judgement of them. Allowing us to see that we
might still have conflict in this area, and it’s become known to you at a
deeper level. We may all have some
conflict going on inside us some very heavy and painful and other not so. The
North is where we can make the commitment.
Projecting our unconscious judgement onto others can take
away your own sense of responsibility and empowerment. The blame game which is
never healthy. What a waste and these
triggers share what is in your way of your own personal and spiritual growth.
Working with Medicine Wheel concept the North represent our
Elder years our ancestors and the gathering of wisdom. The path set by our ancestors may not have
been always easy, the lesson we learned from long ago we may desire to change,
or they have taught us resilience, strength, and consistency. Endurance and the
choice to continue to show up always requires more effort to sustain and succeed.
Showing up is not a defense approach, it’s the silent strength. Think of the
mighty bison our relative and ancestor, continuing to show up and endure all
season especially the White Winters that blanket their warm wooly fur.
Staying motivated, knowledge and education will begin to
come to you through elders, teachers, and mentors. Be like the bison both male and female, in
strength and its power to be inspired and committed to no longer make excuses
for your ability to fulfill what you are seeking and the purpose that you are
unfolding. You are worth it.
Our Elders know that wisdom is about the discernment of your
life experiences, and by example not by just mirror words. “Be the change you wish to see in the world
and your life,” by Mahatma Gandhi.
This North Direction is where we but the boots on and take
responsibility though we may sway back and forth it is the direction that keeps
our foundation solid so it can support the process of a good life.
Walking around the Medicine Wheel is not a guaranteed life
will be easy. But it will offer you the opportunity to gather your own wisdom
and be of service to others in a way that does bring a good life in focus.
Let’s look at our ancestor that have passed.
Who are they to you? What
was their attitude about life?
What kind of life experience were they raised in?
Can we honor them without judgement and just be observant of
the life span?
Can and will you image walking in their shoes?
What lesson are you gathering from taking this reflective
stillness to look long and honestly?
What is on your mind at this moment? What is in your heart after working inwardly
with the North Wisdom?
Yes, the blanket of winter can feel heavy, keep faith, never
give up. Take walks in natures as we know is always good medicine for the
heart, mind, and soul. If you need more
assistance as some issues may sway strongly, please honor yourself, welcome
help.
The Gathering of a circle is mighty powerful too.
I did some morning pages writing and pulled from the questions, I did know my Grandma Lein to closely but I sought her guidance. I just remember her being soft, warm, grandmother smelling and comforting. I sat with the feeling and the next thing that was come from the tip of the pen was, Honey walk in your life with a flow and allow softer rounded edges to be present instead of the drastic-ness of life.
