Using my own Collage Sketches as Inspiration for New Work

The two boxes were made and added to this wood panel while back... I've been working with this in my Tack Down Class at LaGrange Art League.

This is a collage sketch I did awhile back. my sleep is a bit of a toss and turn from time to time.  So this was created to show that....well I like it and decided it would be my reference for the 12 x 48 above.

Collage sketch....size 3 x 3 inches...

Everyone wants to create a nice piece of artwork but it seems composition is the stumbling block. In this class we will first work in a sketchbook with magazines exploring the process of how some compositions work and others don’t. Students can work in an abstract or realistic style, developing strategies to rebuild and break through creative blocks with basic design skills. Emphasis on personal visual style will be explored. Some collage palette creating will be introduced along with image transfers and the Tack Iron method of collage application. Students will move their sketches to the substrates of watercolor paper and wood panels or canvas.
Fee: $126M | $140NM 7 Weeks
