A Wonderful Day-My Birthday

The words on the card...the Husband gave me...

It's not about the destination, but the journey. 

Not about the path you take, but how you walk it

Not about what you have but who you are. 

Not about the love you get, but the love you give. 

Thinking of you

on your birthday, 

and the wonderful way

you live you life. 

You're truly someone to celebrate.  

A huge bouquet of flowers....so full and lush with color.  Orange is the color I'm to gravitate to this year. 

Walked the shore line a bit and found some stacking rocks, asking if it would be OK to gather them in memory, I took them home as natures gift. 

 By the end of the day, I made four peanut butter and strawberry jam sandwiches, (two each, small bread) little oranges some water and chips for the husband and we headed out to Waukegan, Illinois State Beach area. The Park District offered this event.  As the Husband shared with me the day before there would be a drumming circle there for the Summer Solstice and it would be on my birthday.  Almost 2 hours in driving time...we brought our chairs and drums and we went.

The power of a circle never stops to amaze me, strangers brought together to celebrate the longest day of light and to up lift spirits and enjoy the beat of the drums...smiles were seen by all. And when we left it seem to me to be an unspoken bond...we drummed together and celebrated. 

The man in the skeleton shirt was our facilitator for the evening...what a great spirit.  

It truly is about the journey, 

Life is not only to be lived by the length it needs to be lived by the width too.
