Reconnecting with a old friend
Today starts something I've been wanting to put into action for over ten years...so I'm really excited and grateful it's all come to that today.
Julia Cameron put this book out in 1992..or shall I say it was published then. I had to go back about 20 years myself and it was 1993 that I first laid eyes on this book and then became close friends with the process of unblocking and opening the door to a higher creative path. I have a date marked in the book 1999 when I started to record the times I would do a course with it and ever since I've been doing it each year. Helps me stay straight with myself and honesty too.
A small group came to my home for awhile some years back and then on line I lead a group that started in 2007. Amazing things have happened for many of these people...and it's true though that some later on and not always right away just when life gets in alignment some how all that stuff discussed and shared and wrote about does, then it happens...we become more creative and connected to a part of ourselves that we wished we always were. Make sense...?
This morning I begin with a group of 10 the Artist Way, Julia Cameron's First book of many. I will be working the book too, so I'm not going to be just sitting back, I'm jumping feet first on this. Looks as though I've met a few people but some not...so it's also going to be about meeting new people and forming trusting relationships along with working on our own personal area of creative blockage.
What's so exciting is it's at Mayslake Peabody Estate and it's a wonderful old building and the room will have windows all the way around so awesome. Well bests get a move on things. Much to do.

I hope it went well Laura! (I'm sure it did!). You are a wonderful teacher/leader.....you have a gift for it! I look forward to hearing how it progresses over the weeks to come!
ReplyDeleteThanks Robin...I going to say Dido to you- Wonderful Teacher and leader..
ReplyDeleteHow fantastic ! I so wish I was closer and could be one of the 10. I did the book about 15 years ago, as a single girl in my 30s and gained so so much from it.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the process and may it be gentle with you and your participants !
Well now Kim...might be time for another round of Artist Way...or not you seem to be so creative these days...Thanks for stopping by...do need to get out to other blogs more...Just doesn't seem like enough time...

Guess I'm three days behind. Jumping back in.
ReplyDeleteNo right where you need to be there Doris..
ReplyDeleteHi Laura: I was wondering if you would consider doing the Artists Way as an online thing -maybe set up its own blog for it. I cannot be with you and others to do it, and I have tried several times on my own but haven't been able to stick with it by myself. I am sure there are others interested in this approach as well, as I can tell from Kim's comment. Since you are at the start of it with your physical group, would you consider taking us along with you??? PLEASE???
