I think it's over time that what one wants to express and what comes out can not be done all in one piece of art. Or in each piece of art solely. There are bits and piece of what one needs to say. It's over time staying with the medium exploring it to your personal limits do you see a very strong voice. I know we want to have it come out in each piece strongly but then we have this need to created more and we keep creating and it threads in and out of our work.
Example....we create a piece and we like it and it's working and all the luminary lights of higher realms shine down on us...in our delusional mind and in feeling that is. Time passes....and passes...and the need to create takes over and we begin the process again...because there is something that keeps wanting to be expressed....The need to create?
We become Markers of things...because we enjoys the process, this is what I think...

What I think, is that art is made by ordinary people. The conventional wisdom here is that while "craft" can be taught, "art" remains a magical gift. Not so. In large measure becoming an artist consists of learning to accept yourself, which makes your work personal, and in following your own voice, which makes your work distinctive. This suggests that our flaws and weaknesses, while often obstacles to getting our work done, are a source of strength as well.

And you know what else, my friend? Artmaking can be a rather lonely, thankless affair. The overwhelming majority of one's artwork, is simply done to teach you how to make the small fraction of your artwork that soars. The best you can do is make art you care about - and lots of it! The rest is largely a matter of perseverance. But until your ship comes in, the only people who will really care about your work are those who care about you personally. Those close to you know that making the work is essential to your well being. As you said, "the need to create."
