Extra self care with many forms of mindfulness

Today I spent more time with myself and on myself...boy does that sound funny. What I mean is I gave some gentle time of morning pages, affirmative read, yoga, extra prayers and directional meditation and with a Collage meditation in my journal all followed by a hot shower and breakfast. I'm drinking lots of water and the system is continuing the process of eliminating sugars, and processed foods and harmful thoughts. All on their way out . Add in a Gong Healing session and it   all sounds a bit hooky right?  But how the body felt is a testament to me of whats working. I felt so good afterwards it was amazing..I know I will go back again.  There were about 25 woman there.

I know what rhythm does to me that's why I go to the woods to regain my personal rhythm by walking and hiking...This takes me about a quarter of the way around the path before my body gets back in to my personal groove and movements.

 Then by drumming with a group of people how the rhythmical beat carries on and when my wind chimes and storm bells start ring around the homestead property....I'm brought to a wild natural  awareness.  No I'm not smoking anything..this gal been clean and sober for many years...


  1. Hi Laura. This was a great post for me to read today, because I feel like I'm going through something similar. Due to an increase in stress in my daily life within the last few months, I've been experiencing more headaches, and have been, frankly, abusing OTC pain relievers. Five days ago, I decided to stop taking all of them, and it hasn't been easy. I've been doing a lot of thinking, and I made the decision that my stress needs to be handled in a more healthful way, and that I need to practice better self-care moving forward.

      I've been talking to more woman lately that they will through themselves under the bus so quickly and think nothing of it. I have to almost stop myself and keep checking if what I'm doing is going to serve me the best. I'm thinking good thoughts for you as you make the changes you need to and find what works best for you.
