Mission Mind in action
You can see what the potential of these can be with the white mat set on top to frame it off.
Twenty five of them as starters...and a few small 4 x 4 from the extras...I'm sharing a ugly stage of this process for a few lookers and watchers of the blog. I tack down the papers after I tape the edges off and then when they were all done being tacked down I went in with glazing...acrylic and polymer mixed together and brushed on all over the place then I take a paper towel wipe off what I would like to subtract from the piece. add intensity or take it away...I'm letting the sit over night and will start up on them tomorrow and see if they would need some extras like beads, stitching or buttons...just that little bit extra is all.
Not sure what these will be, I had some 8 x 8's cut already and figured I use up some of the scraps from the work session today. I may get wild with these or keep them just small little compositional pieces or studies..
now off to pick up the homestead as I've left it be all day...Reception tonight with the LaGrange Art League...I'm to bring nuts...I don' t have any art work in there but good to show support.
I'm going to have another comment later, but right now my husband's wondering if, in your fourth photo, the one of the small pieces, is the one on the lower left for sale?! He was really drawn to that one! Off to have dinner . . . will be back later. Carol Leigh
ReplyDeleteThank you for being so generous with sharing your "how I do this" information. I love seeing the "behind the scenes" views of what you do. Wishing you all the success you can handle . . . Carol Leigh

ReplyDeleteThese are super. The long rectangles have a mysterious door feel.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone...the inbetween stages arent' the prettiest but their a best parts.. Tape will be cut off and matted and some framed up for the One of a Kind show in Chicago.
ReplyDeleteThey will all be for sale soon, Carol are you talking about the last photo with the 6 small collages..the one with the letters RY and reds, oranges, greens and yellows in it? These will be under 50.00.
Yup, that's the one. Just say the word whenever you're ready. --Carol Leigh
ReplyDeleteUgly stage? Are you kidding me? I have to post my uglies...then you'll see...heehee!!
ReplyDeleteHi Carol, I have bit more planned with this one and I'll post it shortly and then you can decide...sound good?
ReplyDeleteLaura, of COURSE it sounds good! Thanks. --Carol Leigh
ReplyDeleteMy goodness but these all make me want to drool with the possibilities! Sooooo lovely. Love how you use a mat frame to see the potential with each one. Very nice. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Honey...I usually don't but for the photo purpose and for student to see...when I cut the white tape off that's got all the extra paper and paint then you end up with the nice clean edge...I know this so I can't wait for that part.
