Dillman's Winter Festival this weekend March 8th at LaGrange Art League, from 4-7pm come check it out.  

I will presenting a Demo with 4 other artist that will be teaching up at Dillman's Creative Art Workshops this year. Here is a description of what I will be teaching.

Holistic Approach to Collage and Mixed Media

Instructor: Laura Lein-Svencner

Students will practice of shared community in a morning circle, with affirmation prompts and a meditative collage session.  Inspiration from the sketches will inspire rounds of paper surface techniques. Building a collage palette allowing new awareness to emerge.  Emphases on design principles through showing differences, adding harmony, working with value, along with our feelings and emotions we will learn how to express in and through the artwork.   As we get older, we grow more self-conscious and begin to judge our art. We might believe art is not good unless it’s realistic, this is not true.  Collage, design and mixed media present an experimental atmosphere that is safe for all to find a deeper meaning to the art making process. Students collage works will be applied to watercolor paper and wood panels. Tack Iron method of adhering collage papers will be taught. Let us journey in vastness of our inner creative voices together. 

I will be up at Dillman's this year May 18th to the 23rd. 5-Day workshop..
