Art Reception tonight, Mayslake Peabody Estate, Oak Brook IL

I was asked to see if I could created something in a class setting that would relate to the events on a time line for the Illinois Bicentennial... as I looked at the time line Frank Lloyd Wright popped out and then I though of his stained glass window...and from there the students worked with two other artist around the same time period, Pete Mondrian and Wassily Kandinsky. Comparing their works and adding our own artistic twist to it.

 Blue Bells, Abstracting the flowers.

 Big Eaves
Quick Sketches done in a sketchbook to get us familiar with the artist style. Frank Lloyd Wright.
 Pete Mondrian
 Wassily Kandinsky

At the time these artist were creating their works. The world had some unsure feeling going on and well the artist wanted to reflect on a simpler life still and so bring all meaning back into shapes and color seem to be a way to express it.

Students were invited then to exhibit there work...Tonight is the Reception for this event,  Read more about in this Chicago Tribune article
