Movie, Creative Quest and Messy ugly bits-rambles....

Seems I've got a house theme going on in my little chunky journal. Though it is where I spend a lot of my time...home cooking creating and in my studio upstairs. Blessed is what I feel.

The Husband and  I have been toying around the idea of seeing a movie...but we haven't come to any agreement on which one...so we pass, week after week...then The Shack comes out.....I asked if he wanted to see it.

We go...we have some popcorn...yes at 10:15 am on a Saturday. Well the responses from both of it is "its a very moving picture"    There is real life emotional stuff being dealt with right in front of your eye with a change in a spiritual realm...New understanding on how life stuff that really hurts can get worked out with love forgiveness and letting go,  Instead of blame, hurt and hate.  Totally loved this movie.

What I'm seeing also in my little chunky journal that I'm sharing is how quickly the critic (name of mine is Sue)  want's to say, "this is ugly...don't show ugly works....people don't want to see that.

Little do we know as human's we live in the messy bits of our lives...the parts that are ugly and not all perfect....till we see the beauty of those messy bits just as they are so pure, so raw and so real will we every be living a fully life.  Those are my counter thoughts to a distorted thinking moment with my inner critic-Sue....sounds funny but that's what Julia Cameron as you label, name that critic so you can keep a good grounded perspective on things. ( a movie Letters to Julia...as the saying Life is the messy bits.")

I continue the Creative Quests....just 5 day's in and many things are be created and not for sale but just coming out on some surface and it feel good.

  1. Beautiful messiness! "Sitting with your feelings won't always solve your problems or make your feelings go away, but it can make you stop acting blindly." Or make you name the crazy voice in your head, haha. 😉
I think we are talking about mindfulness. "What mindfulness does is create some space in your head so you can, as the Buddhists say, Respond rather than React." Quotes from book, 10% Happier by Dan Harris

Keep up the good orderly direction towards your Creative Quest Mission!!!! You are my idol, haha. 😉

  2. One must remember it's (the movie) fiction and not fact, entertainment, not a life guide.

    1. Janet....sometimes for me it doesn't matter its the message and what I take away and that message can be personal to each person that see's the a movie...
