20/20 Business: Models and strategies for Artists Workshop....

Well when I go to these kind of Workshops...it try to stay open and hear how it all can work with what I've got going on and where other things might fit or not... and do I need to do some tweaking with certain things cutting out of others.

First off I have to say Sharon Taylor Alpi and Andy Heise...are some great teacher to have to teach Entrepreneurship....they both teach at Millikin University.  Their working with college student from 18 on up to 60 something Sharon said. All I know is they get us...creative types.

OK like I shared with my students in the collage and Coptic stitch class...if your taught something the best thing you can do is share it right away...that instill the what you heard, and begins the process of learning and really getting it.  So got to use the visual to share...

So you are to pick 10 words that you feel define you....but only 10 she said...well I jumped on that and started circling...I wanted to circle more..but had to follow the rules.  time was not on our side with over 50 people there...

What this showed me is my core values before I even start any business venture, three year goal or lets say a new year good intentions for the regular Jane and Joe....I thought this was so...so..cool to start with.

Then we moved to page two...

Sharon shared that we may not all have stuff to fill out in each column.   but it's gets you thinking..

Imagine that it is three years from today...who are your skateholders?  What do you see and hear?  What are people doing? What does you art business look like?

got to do some dreaming here...

So page two...Where is my art business today? What do you see and hear? What are people doing? What does the art business look like? use the chart above to make notes.

this is cool too...even if your an Oil painter and are starting off....as Anne Hanely stated who was sitting next to me...Start now where we are and answers these questions.

As it states at the top Vision Gap....this sheet is to work out the gaps from Now  and three years from now...what is the gap between it...that's where you got to start working towards and at.

Page 1....
Page 2...
Looking at our strength and weakness and where we can start with the gap.  if I'm not strong in one area how can I accomplish things...ask for help, trade, barter, and pay someone to help you.
but if you can't see it in front of you how will you know about yourself..if you like me things swirl around a get lost...so writing anything down helps me get a concrete action going...

Oh circles...love them that my first shape I  always pick...  so after filling out all that stuff...you in the blue circle and you have a business plan...not that you have to stick with it to the tee..but you have a plan and we all know plans have to have some wiggle room right?   Next move to the Purple Circle and start on the conceptions of this...begin the action.  and then move to two, three and four...simple right?  Next as you notice there's an Exit arrow....this is for the process of working on the step and finding out what you might have to do next is exit as of stop all together?  or  possibility trying something else out.

As I listened to all of this I realized that I've been doing this along...and will continue doing it... Kind of like the self check thing.  I felt that I need to stop and see if my values are meeting up with all other aspects and Kind of have a personal meeting with myself...well I could ramble on and on about this...it was really an enjoyable workshop...More information about this all can be found at Millikin University in the Tabor School of business ..This is so cool that they have this all for the young and old folks.
