Unity

Unity
36 x 36
Collage on canvas

Finished this piece yesterday, put the second coat of polymer on before add the final varnish coat. I'm wanting to add more but it looses the effect I wanted from the start. Now when I go and get a professional photo of this it will look a heck of alot better...there's such a high gloss on it in now that it's hard to get a good photo.

The circle in this piece was used in a few other smaller piece I've made.. something about it I'm drawn to.  This morning I did a bit of search on the mean of circle...just a quick search that is and this is what I found.

CIRCLE (sun disc, sacred hoop, ring): An ancient and universal symbol of unity, wholeness, infinity, the goddess, female power, and the sun. To earth-centered religions throughout history as well as to many contemporary pagans, it represents the feminine spirit or force, the cosmos or a spiritualized Mother Earth, and a sacred space.

What is really interesting is the blue circle my youngest daughter said looks like the earth and moon both representing a woman's power.. and we shared about a universal quality to this piece and then we toyed with a title and came to "Unity"  And then I receive the little blurb about it and right way the connect of Unity is there.. way cool I think.

Call me corny but I do believe that it's going to take a female power to heal this earth...and wake up all the people on it.

With the Rain coming in this weekend we were going to do a day trip some where but who wants to sit in a vehicle in the rain..so we opt out of that and the Husband is thinking of getting the bath room started...check on prices and sizes of things...that means I need to move my display panels and misc. stuff up stairs..darn it but also it's much need...the bathroom is old and needs reparis but we were going to do this a while back and then life and misc stuff happens and years fly by.

Well just the sign from the husband we are going to the hardware store...shopping for shower stalls and toilets.

  1. It came out perfectly! Don't touch a thing! What do you use for varnish? I need to varnish my work but am not sure what to use.

Is this a cradled panel or canvas?

    It is wonderful!
