October's Tack Down Tuesday #2


Fish Lake
8 x 8 collage on watercolor paper, Matted 2" all sides to final size 12 x 12 ready to pop into a frame.
Materials:
140 lb Watercolor paper, altered magazine pages with sandpaper and acrylics, textured gessoed Kraft paper with acrylics, printed and stained tissue papers, old book pages glazed with acrylics, words and image transfers with black stitching all sealed with UV satin varnish.
Meaning behind the art:
I just got back from a trip to the upper north east of Wisconsin this weekend and heard stories of my husbands childhood and saw the beauty all around me. I had started this piece before when I was presenting a workshop at Dillman's Creative Art Foundation in May of this year but didn't finish it till now I've been able to add a few more fish to the piece and hopeful capture the stories told.
