Judged a Show at Beverly Arts Center yesterday

I was able to tend to all the homestead things I needed to and then find my way to the Beverly Art Center, Chicago IL. I had been asked to Judge the South Suburban Conference area High School Art Exhibit at the Beverly Art Center... it was amazing...I left my card for my camera in my lap top so when I got there I didn't have a camera that was working but the my contact teacher was there to help me and she took pictures.  Haven't received them yet but will today and then I can really look closely at the pieces and then write up what I really want to say for the ceremony tomorrow night.  If I can, I like to take the pictures and come home and really look at them, mainly it gives me time so I and gather the right words to say especially when I have to speak in public...so I'll be doing that tonight.. Do have to say I'm really impressed with the quality of work and craftsmanship...The hardest things about being a judge is leaving behind the young artists with out a ribbon..when I see a group of work and every one of them expressing themselves like they have..right there that's a spot in my heart that reaches out and wants to say that's the award there being able to get it out and put it on to paper, canvas, ceramics or some other kind of material...I saw a lot of scratch board but to the level I've not  seen before..Awesome is all I can say.. Well I've got my last class of this session and need to pack up for it and head out a bit earlier, couple of inches of snow last night so need to drive safe and take my time.. More later as usually..seems I'm always sharing.
