Art Life and the stuff in between

With the days warmer I take advantage of the morning time to do some extra reading and self care. And with that self care I pulled to looking a bit deep into my own baggage of things that seem to be stumbling blocks... so self-esteem has all ways been a under lying stinker for me.. so as you read if you care to I look at this as of way to continue forward with good marching orders... I so have a passion to create and express myself but the stuff between the two ears seems to get in the way of that as I as made mention before Quoted from Julia Cameron's Book Artist Way...If you want to work on your art? you've got to work on your life... Life isn't easy but there are so many opportunities to feed you soul with new adventure and experiences...just got to keep working on the removing the little rocks in your shoes so the walking forward can be a good process instead of one that turns you journey into quick sand..

I'm going to share this one part on the book(A Woman's Self-Esteem, by Nathaniel Branden)...don't know if other feel this same way or if it's me but I guess I'm cutting to the core of things myself..

Self-esteem is what I think and feel about myself, not what someone else things of feels about me. I can be loved by my family, my mate, and my friends, and yet not love myself. I can be admired by my associates and yet regard myself as worthless. I can project and image of assurance and poise that fools almost everyone and yet secretly tremble with a sense of my inadequacy. I can fulfill the expectations of others and yet fail to live up to my own. I can win every honor and yet feel I have accomplished nothing. I can be adored by millions and yet wake up each morning with a sickening sense of fraudulence and emptiness. Think of world-acclaimed rock stars who cannot get through the day without drugs. To attain "success" without attaining positive self-esteem is to be condemned to feeling like an impostor anxiously awaiting exposure.  (can someone drill this into my thick head, please)

Acclaim to others does not create our self-esteem. Neither does material possessions, philanthropic endeavors, sexual conquests, or face lifts. These things can sometimes make us feel better about ourselves temporarily or more comfortable in particular situation. But comfort is not self-esteem..

The key virtues or practices on which healthy self-esteem depends is living consciously, self-acceptance, self-responsibility, self-assertiveness, purposeful living, and personal integrity.

Some hard work ahead  but it sure feels good...

End of my horoscope this morning..Gemini....  Recognizing that your preconceptions are what hold you back today doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to let go of all you hold dear—it simply means that you are more responsive to things that can help you develop further.

that's the words I like to hear...Develop Further as an human being...be that full time person in my own life..

  1. Sounds like a rather interesting book, I could use a boost of self esteem myself after repeatedly being sabotaged.
