Papermaking Process 2

My daughter was helping me take this photos and she loves the water dripping down and the effect of the water in the vat. I too enjoy to hear the water dripping outside like this. It's important to let as much water drain out or the fibers won't weave together and lock in and you could get a real mucky mess on the felt. And if you ever don't like what you've couched down, scrap it off and return it to the vat and stir it up and your ready to go again.

Mold, sushi mat, and a screen and you can see that in this photo, then the paper, and the deckle frame.

The system here is with the sushi mat and screen. I still need the support under the mat and the deckle frame on top. I'm pulling off the deckle frame at this point.

The deckle is pulled off and you have a sheet of paper on the screen ready to be couched.

The felts are old sheets, and heavy inter facing that I lay between each sheet of newly formed paper. Here you can see the sheet of paper being couched.

I was going to ask who was taking the photos but you've already shared that. Got so entranced and remember a workshop that you had taught that at that I wasn't reading! It is an enjoyable experience!
