Loads to do today and out and about~

Darker palette was made yesterday of the stained artist tissue papers, some with strings some with out.

I was just delighted by the way the stained worked on this tissue. I stained the top half and then lifted the paper and sprayed it with more water and let the stain trail down. Made a mess on the floor but heck was having fun and experiementing "got to go with it."

Same papers as about the trailing off of the stain will be a plus later when used in a collage. I know I'll be saying," darn-it, wished I'd made a few more sheets."

Here is the stringed stained artist tissue papers, I need some darker colors to fill the other palette of papers I have. I'll coat the other side as you can see this is really glossy now but the other side needs the polymer coat in order for the technique of the heat seal iron to work.

~~~~~~~~
Before I head out on many run around things to do today I've taken a moment to share with you the papers I made yesterday. So will in my classes I'm teaching we are making the same kind of papers or soon will be I can't help myself from making a stacks and stacks of paper. You see I have this attraction to piles of paper, I love to see it piled high and in different colors. I do have to make something soon with that so it can hang it forever on my wall in the studio. I'm also making the brown paper, papers which I'll be showing you soon.
Short and sweet but got to go~~~~
You need to have loads of papers so when you are in the middle of your creative endeavours you have a lot of choices. It would be annoying if you ran out half way through a piece. Thanks for sharing. I love the way the stain trails down. It looks fabulous!
That's the plan Lady!!
Yes the paper is very interesting as I'm showing some fear about using it cause it's so cool looking, but I'm sure I'll pass that fear soon enough when I'm looking for that just right piece of paper.
Laura, what is the "stain" you mention? Is is still the acrylic paint that you usually use? I do like the varigated look to it!
Laura, I too paint tissue paper for my collages, and I have tried the string paper, but it was awful and I haven't tried again. But your string paper is great. Isn't it just the most fund?
I love the colors!! Metallics, purples awesome. I too love the way the colors get lighter as they go down the page. Like how skies are. By the way, went to Borders and checked out Watercolor Magic book and your article! Love how you explain your art process. yes, it does appear watercolorists are embracing collage and vice versa. Congrats on being in the mag!!!!!
P.S are those Golden Brand colors? Do you prefer fluid acrylics? Inquiring minds need to know! WHen you say cool papers, do you mean cool like neat or cool like cold?
Hi Bev,
you ask about the coolness of the papers, I was refering to Cool like neat, but I guess you could think of it as the cool colors on the colorwheel.. glad you got to see the article in Watercolor Artist Mag.
