I was asked by Gretchen from the National Collage Society to share a simple technique that I use with the Nevr Dull as a resist. I'm not sure if this will make it in the next book from the National Collage Society about the different effects we do in collage making. So last night I prepared the magazine papers and got them all coated and started snapping pictures. This morning instead of taking my walk I started putting the collage together. Then I had to head out and take down work at the Whole foods and then stop in to Poe M. Arthouse to pick up my check from the few matted piece that sold. So I will be sending Gretchen a copy of the CD I made and wish me luck that I become part of the next NCS collage book.

Good luck Laura
thanks Sweetie
Will that NCS collage book be for sale? Even cooler if you're in it. Wow, big tub of polymer. Is the acrylic varnish to seal it? I love the collage colors, texture variety. I think the close up is interesting picture in itself. May I ask how you make the lines? They are intriguing.
Hope you had great turkey day. Sounds like a houseful! That's a good thing.

P.S. Like your little face photo showing up now by your comments.Sweet.
Thanks for the mention of the profile image.. decided to change a bit and as for the lines,,, which ones are you talking about the lines between the papers edges or the lines in the paper itself...
Let me know and I'll gladly share.

Hi Laura,
The lines in the paper, love how they flow....I always get lost in your pieces, wondering how you do everything you do, it always blows me away!
And as always, thanks for being so generous in sharing your techniques!
Bev
Hi Bev,
If I got this right the lines in the paper are created by the using the polymer as a resist, I stamp randomly or in patterns let it dry and then When I mix the acrylics with the glazing it make the paint workable longer so I can rub in the paint and rub off. I don't use it alot unless I'm working a bigger area and I don't want the Acrylic to dry to fast, cuz it will. Then after wards I come back in and work the shapes with small brush and the acrylic adding and rubbing off. Mainly to make the shapes and lines have some depth is all so it doesn't look flat. Lets say I love to let you believe it has a lot of height to it when in reality is lays very flat. Well I hope that comes across that way. Still need to work at it.
